Professor Lahiri's research ranges from cutting-edge brain imaging technology to the overarching theme of investigating the mental representation of the sounds of human language. Her academic honours include the Max Planck Research Award, the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize and the Professor Sukumar Sen Memorial Gold Medal. She is also a Fellow of the British Academy, an Honorary Life Member of the Linguistic Society of America, and a Fellow of Somerville College.
Prior to his retirement in 2020, Henning was Professor of Phonetics at the Institute of Phonetics, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. Recently, he has been collaborating with Prof. Allard Jongman (University of Kansas) to write a practical guide to acoustic phonetics (recording, segmenting, measuring, production & perception experiments, and statistical evaluation).
